c. backstory <3
Astraea Vaelisse was born in Amphoreus, a civilization devoted to perfection, preservation, and eternity. Its people believed emotions should be controlled, beauty should never fade, and memories should remain untouched forever. Everything in Amphoreus was carefully maintained — flawless cities, flawless people, flawless lives. But to Astraea, it all felt artificial.
She grew fascinated by things her world considered meaningless: fleeting emotions, imperfect art, flowers that bloomed only briefly before dying. While others feared change and decay, Astraea secretly admired them. To her, there was something beautiful about things existing temporarily — because it made them real.Over time, she became obsessed with one question:
How could life truly mean anything if nothing was ever allowed to change?
The more she questioned Amphoreus, the more trapped she felt within it. Every emotion was restrained, every path predetermined, every person expected to become part of the same eternal perfection. Astraea didn’t want perfection anymore. She wanted authenticity. She wanted to experience life in its rawest form — unpredictable, emotional, flawed. So she left.
Using a forbidden stellar relic, Astraea escaped Amphoreus through an unstable path between worlds, abandoning everything she had ever known simply to see whether life beyond her planet could feel real. The journey left her stranded on Earth with fragmented memories and no understanding of how humans lived, but for the first time in her life, she felt free.Earth fascinated her immediately.
Humans cried openly, laughed too loudly, fell in love recklessly, and cherished things despite knowing they wouldn’t last forever. Nothing here was perfect — and that was exactly why Astraea loved it.Still, adapting wasn’t easy.
She spoke too formally, stared too long at ordinary things, and often asked unsettling questions without realizing it. People found her strange at times, almost uncanny, like someone pretending to be human rather than naturally being one. Yet beneath her oddness was genuine curiosity. Astraea truly wanted to understand humanity and all the emotions Amphoreus had taught her to suppress.
Eventually, under the nickname Ari, she opened a small flower shop called Noctis Garden. The shop became her quiet place to learn the world little by little. Through flowers, she discovered how humans expressed feelings they couldn’t always put into words — apology bouquets, funeral lilies, flowers given out of love, grief, hope, or simple affection.Even now, Astraea still feels slightly disconnected from humanity, as though part of her remains somewhere among the stars. But she keeps trying anyway.Because after spending her entire life surrounded by forced perfection, Astraea would rather struggle through something real than ever return to something artificial again.
